Those looking to spend more time with their family should look into any popular card games. By playing card with family you will grow closer and have a good time with those you love. There are many different games you can play including poker, gin, spades, go fish, hearts, Uno, and more! Players of all ages should be able to learn these games allowing many generations to spend quality time together.
A very popular game to play with your family is poker. For many years families have sat around the dinner table and played games such as Stud and Texas Hold'em. These games are simple and can be played for fun, money, or even toothpicks!
If you have exactly four players the best game to play is Spades. This exciting game has players bid on how many hands, or tricks, they will win over the course of a single deal. Players will begin the hand with exactly thirteen cards with the last player to win a trick showing first. If you are unable to reach your bid you will be penalized a certain number of points.
One of the few games which can be played with just two players is Gin Rummy. In this game players will start with ten and draw one themselves. In order to win you must create thee hands with either four of a kind, straights, or flushes. Once you have made all three hands you will knock your fist on the table and the hand will be over.
For those with young children at home there is no better game than Go Fish. This classic game requires players to remove ranks from their hand once they have four of a kind. In order to get these strong hands they must ask their competitors for theirs. If their opponent's hands do not contain any of them they will go fish by drawing from the deck. The first player to fold their entire hand wins.
One of the few games not using a regular deck is Uno. Instead of an Ace through King deck with suits the Uno deck uses colors and zero through nine. Much like other games the goal of Uno is to remove your entire hand by matching your numbers and colors with folded face up cards in the middle of the table. Remember to yell "UNO!", when you get down to one as failing to do so will cost you a big penalty.
Hearts, just like Spades, is a difficult four player game requiring a lot of skill. Players will bid before each deal depending on the number of trick the feel they will win. If they happen to not make their bid they will lose points. Players will continue playing until a previously specified number of deals are over with the team with the highest points winning the game.
By playing cards with family you will have a good time, improve friendships, and even win a few pennies! Be sure to choose a game family members of all ages can play so everyone will have a good time playing cards.
