This error is commonly known as PS3 yellow light of death, also known as YLoD. The YLoD is the greatest fear of most PS3 users.

The PS3 yellow light of death is an indication for a failure of the hardware. This failure is commonly caused by factors like cooling and heating element the leads to hardware malfunction or one of the diodes or capacitors in the power supply is not working any more. However, this can also be caused by overheating of the console, a severe error of the hard disk or a malfunction of the Blu-ray drive.

The PS3 yellow light of death happens as soon as you switch on the system and it begins as usually for several moments and then rather than booting, it begins beeping 3 times while showing a faint yellow light, which after that becomes a red light.

The PS3 yellow light of death is a difficult error to fix and there are only three options that are available to you.
