There is no question that the Halo series is one of the most successful video games in the history of the genre. It is a science fiction trilogy, produced by Bungie Studios. The story centers on Master Chief, who is a cybernetically-enhanced, but human protagonist who spearheads the fight against humanities alien enemy known as the Covenant.
Known primarily for it's assistance in the gigantic success with the Xbox video game console, it's original release is credited to Mac and personal computers. What was once envisioned as a Real Time Shooter, the idea was quickly scrapped in favor the First Person Shooter theme. The public got it's initial look at the title at the MacWorld '99 conference.

As millions of copies were sold, it made the Xbox the heavy hitter it is today, breaking many sales records. As one of the more popular video games ever released, it has spawned many sequels, novels, comics, toys, and other additional merchandise.
Anyone with broadband cable access can connect their Xbox to the internet and Xbox Live. This will allow you to enjoy the backbone of the franchises long lasting success, online multiplayer. The single player campaign is great, but it's the revolutionary multiplayer battles that have stood the test of time.
The game and it's successors are must-own titles for the Xbox and Xbox 360. The grand storytelling and immense single player campaigns are just the beginning of the adventure. The deep and rich multiplayer modes are the backbone of this franchise, keeping players, both young and old, coming back for years to come.
