Are you a new Farmville player not completely happy with your farm? Perhaps it seems really hard to you to level up any faster. To make matters worse, when you visit your Farmville neighbors or talk to your friends about their farms, they all have well-decorated, gigantic farms filled with plentiful crops and animals -- and you can't even afford a whitewash fence.
Well, don't despair! There's a simple Farmville secret that will have you raking in coins quicker than you can say "yeehaw!" Better yet, you can even do it in your SLEEP!
So what's this simple Farmville secret, you ask? It's crop rotation - a surprisingly efficient system that maximizes the amount of coins you receive per week from your harvests.
Before we get into the details of the system, ask yourself two questions: First, do I get enough sleep? You should never seriously short yourself on sleep just to play Farmville, and the system allocates eight hours a night for sleeping. And two, can I allocate a sizable amount of time to playing Farmville each day? When you follow this system, you'll need to play Farmville for about 10 minutes every two to four hours.
The procedures for this system are pretty straightforward. Upon awakening after your eight hours of sleep, plant and harvest strawberries for the entire day. Since strawberries take four hours to be ready for harvest, you'll get four harvests in a day if you wake up at 8 a.m. and go to bed at midnight.
Those four harvests will yield 2,240 coins if your crop field contains 16 plots, but not all of that is profit. You have to count the cost of the seeds and the cost of plowing -- 25 coins per plot, 10 for the seeds and 15 for plowing -- which brings the profit total down to 640 coins.
In terms of profit per hour, strawberries are the most valuable during the starting levels (1-4) because they make 6.25 coins per hour. All the other crops that are available during these levels make less than 6.25 coins per hour: eggplants make 1.37, wheat makes 4, soybeans make 2 and peanuts make 3.63. But if you want to check the math for yourself, the formula for determining the amount of profit per hour is: (Sell Price of Crop - Seed Cost of Crop) / Number of Hours Required for Crop to Mature. One important thing to remember when using this formula is that if a crop takes a day to mature, that's actually 23 hours and not 24 hours, since Farmville days are 23 hours long.
Pumpkins are the perfect crop to rotate with strawberries during the lower levels. The reason that they're perfect is that you can grow strawberries all throughout the day and then grow pumpkins overnight, since they take eight hours to mature.
If you grow strawberries all day, you should be able to get enough experience to reach level five and gain access to pumpkins before the day ends. However, if you somehow don't reach level five in time, you have two options: 1.) to not grow crops overnight or 2.) to grow strawberries overnight and wake up a little earlier to harvest them since they rot after a full eight hours.
The Farmville crop rotation system maximizes how many coins your crops will make you in a week, but the actual number of coins you'll make is determined by the size of your farm. If you're planting on 16 plots like mentioned earlier, you'll make 7,056 coins in profit in a week. But if you plow as much land as possible and plant on all of it, you'll make 63,504 coins in a week.
When you reach the eighth level, you may want to consider switching from planting strawberries to planting raspberries instead. The reason is that they make more than double what strawberries make in coins per hour and they're harvestable after just two hours. So if you can handle the extra time commitment, you'll be able to make a lot more coins -- 9,856 in a week with 16 plots or 88,704 with 144 plots. Since seed and plowing costs have already been subtracted from both of those figures, they're 100 percent profit!
Maximizing the amount of coins you're making from your crops is simple when you're following this easy crop rotation system. Remember to follow these instructions, as discussed earlier: plant either strawberries or raspberries during the entire day, making sure to harvest them as soon as they're mature. Before you go to sleep, switch to pumpkins and plant them in all your plots. Once you wake up, harvest your crops and then repeat the whole process again. Way to go! You're now on the path to making huge amounts of coins in Farmville!
