Everyone has to deal with stress on a daily level. Even though stress can cause us harm, it actually is good for us in low doses, because it prods us to get things done and protect ourselves.
But, like everyone knows, a lot of stress for an extended period of time is a bad thing. I think that clutter plays a huge role in the amount of stress that you deal with on a daily basis. I'm not kidding, you'd be surprised to see how much less stressful your life is when the clutter is gone. Let's take a look at two big reasons why reducing the clutter in your life will reduce the stress in your life.
A cluttered home causes stress every day. People will always prefer order to clutter in their homes. Many people have grown used to clutter in their home, but would prefer to have it ordered, they just are overwhelmed with the enormity of decluttering their home.
It is difficult to locate what you're looking for when you're searching through a cluttered home. It also is much easier to lose things, and I think everyone can remember a time when they lost something important and the stress it caused. I personally have lost important things like my wallet and mp3 player when my home was a mess, and that certainly put a strain on me!
Another way that a cluttered home causes stress has to do with all the extra energy, physical and mental, that is expended throughout the day because of the clutter. Searching for lost items, or even things that always end up finding, it just takes too long, like the TV remote, for instance, will cause stress. You probably underestimate the amount of stress it can lead to, but it really adds up. Completing tasks, from getting dressed and ready to go out, cooking, and cleaning all take more effort in a cluttered, unorganized home. If you can eliminate some of the clutter from your home, it will be a much happier place! I can promise you that!
